Sarah Fox, Independent Member

Sarah works at the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, leading one of two Scrutiny Teams that oversee the performance of health and social care regulators in the UK. 

Previously Sarah was Assistant Director at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) where she worked on a variety of cases within the consumer protection, regulatory appeals and markets regime – most recently working on the CMA’s market investigation into veterinary services for household pets in the UK.

She joined the CMA from the Fundraising Regulator, where as Head of Casework she oversaw their casework process and was responsible for all aspects of complaints and investigations. Prior to that she spent 11 years at the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, primarily in the Ombudsman’s Private Office, where she dealt with some of the most high profile and sensitive investigations.
