New Independent Board Member appointed

We’re pleased to announce the appointment of
Victor Olowe to the OA’s Board as the new Independent Board Member, following an open recruitment process. Alongside sitting on the Board, Victor will also chair the OA’s Audit and Risk Committee.
We are delighted to welcome Victor, who has been appointed to a three-year term. Victor brings extensive experience in governance, professional regulation, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement across a range of sectors. He currently serves as Independent Chair of the CGMA Exam Board at AICPA/CIMA, overseeing the integrity of examinations serving a global community.
Victor also holds senior non-executive roles at IPReg, Morley College London, and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, with a particular focus on financial governance, audit, and risk management. His career has been marked by a commitment to protecting public interest, promoting fairness, and driving organisational improvement, and will offer a valuable external perspective to the OA.
Margaret Kelly, Chair of the OA, said:
"We are delighted to welcome Victor to the Board. His impressive track record of promoting effective governance, safeguarding public trust, and supporting organisations through change and innovation will be a tremendous asset to the OA. I look forward to working alongside him as we continue to champion best practice and uphold high standards across our membership."
Victor Olowe commented:
"I am honoured to join the Ombudsman Association Board at such an important time. Throughout my career, I have sought to promote fairness, transparency, and public confidence in organisations. I look forward to bringing my independent perspective and governance experience to support the OA’s mission and to contribute to the continuous improvement of redress systems across the UK, Ireland, and beyond."
As an Independent Board Member, Victor will contribute a voice that is outside that of the OA’s members, helping to broaden perspectives. This marks an important step in further strengthening the OA’s governance, ensuring we continue to reflect the values of accountability and transparency at the heart of our work.
